When you pray you are talking to yourself, recharging yourself, and generating a specific energetical flow to course through your vessel creating a field. That field is full of intention and intent is the driving force of manifestation.
I memorized a pocket full of prayers when I was little.
The morning one:
"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come, thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. Amen."
The bedtime one:
"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep; If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen."
And the food prayer:
“God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our food. By his hands, we all are fed, give us lord our daily bread. Amen.”
I’d heard people pray, in all kinds of ways. I noticed the things they’d say, how they’d speak, and the intention and intensity of the words. I noticed how religious figureheads prepared themselves for prayer. I noticed the mannerisms, I noticed what they wore and what they did. In many different settings be it religious or situational.
I’ve prayed all my life by mimicking the actions and mannerisms I’d seen in various preachers, Babas, and priestesses. When you do something so often, it eventually becomes a part of who you are, and if you seek understanding, one-day innerstanding will come to you. And that happened to me in prayer when I participated in Lent and Ramadan this year.
I prayed with a lot of pure intention throughout these holidays and something began to happen for me. I began to get rapid downloads. I began to gain clarity about many things. I was able to visualize manifestations. My ability to believe grew. My ability to do grew. My trust in mycellf GREW! So much so that I began to hear God outside of my prayers. I began to see God outside of my mind. I began to trust God outside of my heart. And what I came to realize is that God is me. God looks like me. Sounds like me. Walks like me. Talks like me. I am a manifestation of God’s creation! And therefore I can create anything through manifestation as well because God expands through me. God flow.
When you pray you are talking to yourself, recharging yourself, and generating a specific energetical flow to course through your vessel creating a field. That field is full of intention and intent is the driving force of manifestation. You build your intent through trauma release, self-love, boundary setting, and authenticity (amongst more). You will begin to heal and healing will align you with your heart’s desires and your divine purpose. If you have an unclear vision the energy you generate will spread and flow chaotically. You will begin manifesting things you don’t want because you are sending confusing intentions into the Universe. That’s when people get trapped in the victim mentality. You ask “why me?” instead of “what is it that I’m supposed to be learning from this experience to improve myself and move forward without allowing this kind of manifestation energy back into my life?”
That is how prayer has helped me. It brought me in alignment with Spirit- the God within me.
Throughout those months of fervent prayer, I developed a prayer ritual. A way that I pray when I want to set particular energy in motion. Every day requires a little hand and knee action prayer, but this prayer ritual I do for a specific event, occasion, and/or intention.
5-step Prayer Ritual
When you are about to pray with direct intention, it is best to show up as your highest self. I’ve accumulated some of the major Archana of prayer preparation into this five-step process you can do at home!
1. Wash- Cleanse in Water
- Washing your face, hands, and feet in cool water before prayer serves many purposes. First, it cleanses the physical channels of energetic flow in and out of the body. Cool water increases blood circulation assisting in the continuous flow of oxygen throughout the body which supports organ functioning, wound healing, heart health, and mental clarity. Florida Water is an ancient healing liquid comprised of natural elements that assist in Spiritual cleansing. You can make your own Florida Water at home or you can purchase an au natural brand. After you’ve washed your feet, hands, and face with water and nonfragrant soap, spritz the Florida Water on the pulses of your feet, hands, and face to cleanse the celestial portals that Spirit will travel through.
2. Breathwork- Cleanse in Air
- Breathwork is the practice of manipulating your breathing patterns to promote mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Oxygen continuously traveling through circulating blood cells helps replace cells that wear out, supplies you with energy, supports your immune system, and more. Perhaps most importantly it releases the stress hormones from your body allowing you to relax. When you are relaxed you are in a tranquil and peaceful state. When you are at peace you are aligned with your higher self and able to receive messages and downloads with more clarity. Sitting in a comfortable position, slowly pull breath in through your nose from the back of your throat as if you are snoring, once your abdomen and chest are full of air, exhale through your mouth. This is called Ujjayi breath. Ujjayi is an effective breathing technique because it improves your concentration as well as regulates tension in your body.
3. Sage- Cleanse in Fire
- Fire is representative of rebirth, energy shifting, communication, protection, and purification. Smudging with sage is used to cleanse your aura by smoke. Smoke from flames is often thought to be the pathway to the divine. Once you place your intentions into the smoke it travels up into the heavens of the U-N-Iverse where it will manifest. The most commonly accessible sage is white sage. It is known for its thick smoke which wards of negative energy and promote healing. When sagging, first circle the sage around your crown with your non-dominant hand as this will be your receiving channel. As you circle, give thankhs unto Spirit for many blessings, favor, and mercy. Then sage around your body with your dominant hand as this will be your projection channel. As you circle your body affirm the release of any doubts, worries, and/or blockages that hinder your connection to the divine.
4. Bowl- Cleanse in Sound
- Everyone omits vibration as a result of the everflowing energy within. Based on a number of factors that affect your aura such as the food you’re eating, the books you’re reading, the amount of exercise you get, whether or not you meditate, etc, the vibration you emit could be loud and vibrant or low and static. The quickest way to manipulate your vibration is by using sound.
If you don’t have a sound bowl at home you can use audio tracks from youtube or chakra chants such as “om” and “lam.” Before you turn on your track or gong your singing bowl, say “I now invite the ancestors, the U-N-Iverse, and God to come into this space and hear my prayers.” From there, close your eyes and transcend into deep meditation as you allow sound vibration to effortlessly increase your aura.
5. Bow- Cleanse in Earth
- Bowing is an act of submission, respect, and acknowledgment to a power greater than what’s confined to your being. Presenting your crown chakra to the Earth grounds you by connecting to the energy emitted from the U-N-Iverse. It’s important to remain grounded when praying because prayer is such a high vibrational act. It is possible to get lost in the grandeur of the experience and in doing so you actually lose the purpose of prayer- aligning with your highest self. When you bow you are offering the biggest sacrifice unto Spirit, the sacrifice of cellf. In this sacrifice, you are allowing Spirit to use your vessel to achieve its divine purpose. From a kneeling position on your toes, your palms on the floor, tilt your body forward until your forehead touches the ground. Stay there until you are called to move, and from there you can begin your prayer.
Prayer, like everything in life, will differ from person to person. It may differ based on your religious beliefs and practices, your traditions, your understanding of life, and so much more. Always remember, there’s no right or wrong way to pray. It doesn’t matter how you pray, it is the act of prayer that is the most important. The kind of tools that you use isn’t as important as the intention of their usage.
